The University of Valencia carries out its researching activity in several areas of knowledge. The results of this activity have applications in a wide range of social and productive sectors. Information relevant to businesses and institutions with regard to the scientific and technological capacity of the University of Valencia is made available and transmitted to the greater socioeconomic community by its Oficina de Transferència de Resultats d'Investigació (Office of Research Results Transfer, OTRI). Thus, the University of Valencia contributes in invigorating the system of business innovation, fostering increased competitiveness.

A. List of the UV scientific and technical capabilities.
The University of Valencia has established the Oficina de Transferència de Resultats d'Investigació (OTRI) and the Servei d'Investigació (Research Service) as its principal means of scientific and technological communication. So that, companies and institutions might benefit from the scientific potential and the scientific and technical capabilities available within their R&D groups, and in order to channel their demands and needs towards our institution.

B. Institutes and research groups at the UV.
The UV is a pioneer entity in Research and it is equipped with an established infrastructure that consists of Laboratories and central Services supporting to research. The UV has almost 4.000 investigators who work in research entities (institutes, R&D groups, departments, etc.) with an extensive and recognised experience. The aim of ours investigators is creating and transmitting knowledge to the society.

C. Scientific and technological resources available.
The OTRI offers companies an online catalogue of knowledge available from our research groups and institutes, in which one can find activities, services and ongoing projects, in order to find the resource that best meets the needs of business innovation, all in an accessible style of language and oriented towards economic activity.

D. Registration of Research groups.
The research group is the minimum unit of research at the UV with more than 600 active groups. The R&D policy is oriented to the promotion of the multidisciplinarity and inter-institutionality by promoting the aggregation of research groups in stable structures and high critical mass, such as University Research Institutes and Structures for Interdisciplinary Research (ERI).
The management of Research groups Data is carried out by the OTRI. That consists of registration of new research groups and the maintenance of existent dates.
